Flux Drive 12 prototype
Flux Drive 12
Run 12V motors and accessories from a higher-voltage lithium battery.
Keep the 12V equipment on the boat while using one higher-voltage battery as the power source.
Flux Drive 12 is a prototype step-down module for checked kayak and small-boat setups. It is intended to run a matched 12V trolling motor and accessory system from a 24V, 36V, or 48V lithium battery.

The Problem
12V kayak systems work. The pile of batteries is the problem.
Many motorized fishing kayaks still use 12V trolling motors and large 12V batteries. That is not wrong. It is just bulky. Once the boat also has sonar, lights, USB charging, pumps, and other accessories, the electrical system starts to feel like a stack of separate decisions instead of one boat.
Flux Drive 12 is aimed at users who are already thinking about a cleaner power architecture and want to reduce the number of separate batteries, chargers, and wiring decisions on the boat.
The Solution
Regulated 12V power from the higher-voltage battery you already chose.
Flux Drive 12 steps higher-voltage lithium battery power down to a regulated 12V output for a matched trolling motor and accessory system. This is not meant to be a loose converter hidden in a hatch. The point is a labeled, fused, marine-minded module that can be reviewed against the actual motor, battery, wiring, and connectors on the boat.
- High-voltage battery input
- Regulated 12V DC output
- Motor and accessory load support
- Marine-focused enclosure and wiring
- Fused input/output protection
- Clear input/output labeling
Use Cases
Built around real 12V kayak power questions.
Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot-style 12V Minn Kota systems
12V transom-mount kayak trolling motors
Fish finders, lights, USB charging, pumps, and other 12V accessories
Kayaks with 12V motor plugs and rear battery connections
Users experimenting with 24V, 36V, or 48V lithium battery systems
Users who want one organized power architecture instead of separate batteries
Old Town, Sportsman AutoPilot, Minn Kota, and other referenced names are examples of common 12V kayak systems. Quantacraft Marine is not claiming partnership, endorsement, or compatibility certification from those brands.

Safety & Compatibility
Reviewed setup required before connecting anything.
Flux Drive 12 is a prototype-stage product. Compatibility depends on battery voltage, BMS current limits, motor current draw, wiring, connectors, fuse sizing, thermal behavior, and installation details.
Do not connect unsupported batteries or motors without checking compatibility first. Prototype units may change as testing continues.
